Valencia ‘dream’ of Barca’s Gomes

Valencia ‘dream’ of a return for former midfielder Andre Gomes this summer after he has fallen out of favour at Barcelona, say reports in Spain.

Marca say the Portuguese midfielder is keen on a return to Los Che while the club themselves will attempt to structure a deal this summer.

Diario Sport had reported the two clubs have already held talks for a possible loan deal, although the Catalan giants would rather sell the midfielder permanently to a non-Spanish club.

Last week, El Mundo Deportivo reported the Blaugrana are open to a relatively cheap departure in the region of €22m despite having spent €55m to sign the midfielder from Valencia in the summer of 2016.

The former Benfica man has admitted to ‘going through a bit of a hell’ at the club due to his poor form and the volume of scrutiny he was under.

Gomes, who has not been included in Portugal’s World Cup squad, has previously been linked with a move to Juventus.
