Madrid, Betis interest in Hector Herrera

Real Madrid and Real Betis are both interested in signing Porto midfielder and Mexico international Hector Herrera, say reports in Spain.

Sevilla Info claim Betis were pursuing the possibility of a deal earlier this summer but due to his performances at the World Cup, his valuation has rocketed beyond their financial capabilities.

Los Verdiblancos are keen to replace the outgoing central midfielder Fabian Ruiz, who is set to join Napoli this week in a €30m deal.

Madrid are also said to hold an interest in the central midfielder, whom new Coach Julen Lopetegui managed during his spell at Porto between 2014 and 2016.

Herrera joined the Portuguese champions from Pachuca in 2013 for €11m but has only one year remaining on his contract but the club last season were demanding €20m.
