Lyon: Madrid want Fekir

Olympique Lyonnais President Jean-Michel Aulas claims Real Madrid are interested in signing France forward Nabil Fekir.

Fekir appeared to be on his way to Liverpool, but the transfer broke down and Aulas revealed to BeIN Sports that Madrid were among the clubs hoping to capitalise on the collapse.

“When his move to Liverpool fell through, many clubs revealed their interest in him, not only Real Madrid and their new Coach…” he told the broadcaster.

“Anything is possible. We want him to stay, but if he wants to leave, we’ll try to find the best team for him in terms of size and performance.”

Fekir, who is left-footed and primarily plays as a No 10 but can operate out wide, scored 23 goals for Lyon last season and is in France’s World Cup squad.

It comes after Liverpool had reportedly launched a sensational €180m for Madrid winger Marco Asensio.
