Milan striker and reported Sevilla target Nikola Kalinic looks set to be thrown out of the Croatia squad after refusing to play, say reports.
Diario AS cite reports that the former Fiorentina frontman could be sent home after refusing to appear as a substitute against Nigeria on Saturday evening.
Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic said in the aftermath of the match, a 2-0 win for the Croats, that his team had avoided injuries but had encountered ‘a problem’, says the report.
Marca now state Los Rojiblancos will switch their attention to the Croatian striker, following a report in Diario de Sevilla which stated the striker has been ‘placed on the market’ by the Italian giants.
The 30-year-old joined the Rossoneri from Fiorentina last summer but managed just six goals in 31 Serie A appearances and the report says his representatives are aiming to structure a move to Spain.
Kalinic, who scored 32 goals in 68 appearances for the Viola, would add competition to Wissam Ben Yedder and Luis Muriel at the Andalusian club.
An official decision from the Croatian FA is expected on Monday.
