Ruben Blanco set for new Celta deal

Celta Vigo are set to extend the contract of goalkeeper Ruben Blanco by two years through to the summer of 2022, say reports in Spain.

The 22-year-old has slowly been introduced into the first-team setup at the Galician club, making 22 La Liga starts last season and replacing Sergio Alvarez as the preferred shot-stopper.

Blanco has now made a total of 44 top-flight appearances since his debut in 2013 and had reportedly attracted the interest of other Spanish clubs.

The agreement is set to be confirmed within the next week when all parties have returned from a brief holiday.
