POLL: Should Spain stick with De Gea?

As the dust settles from Spain’s 3-3 draw with Portugal, Football Espana asks whether they should stick or twist with David de Gea at the World Cup.

De Gea made a costly error when he let Cristiano Ronaldo’s shot squirm past him for 1-2 during Friday’s showdown in Sochi, causing growing divisions over the Manchester United goalkeeper.

Marca and AS went with front pages on Sunday explaining the national team had rallied around the 27-year-old, while Sergio Ramos tweeted the former Real Madrid target would ‘always be my goalkeeper’.

However, the internet’s opinion was a different story, with many users wanting Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga to replace him for Spain’s next game against Iran.

Indeed, a poll on AS.com saw 49.77 percent of 39,917 readers vote for Kepa’s inclusion – 11% more than De Gea and almost 40 more than Napoli’s Pepe Reina.
