Calleri not returning to Spain

Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri looks set to not return to Spain next season with a move to Italian club Bologna said to be close.

The 24-year-old netted 12 goals with three assists in 41 competitive games for Las Palmas last season but his output was not enough to help the club avoid relegation.

Calleri has now returned to parent club Deportivo Maldonado but looks set to move on again this summer, having also endured a stint at West Ham United the previous campaign.

The striker scored 24 times in 64 appearances for Argentine giants Boca Juniors between 2014 and 2015 and now looks set for a move to the Serie A club, now Coached by Filipo Inzaghi according to a report in Sportitalia.
