Barca to talk on Rafinha

The father and agent of Rafinha Alcantara claims Inter and Barcelona will meet next week to resolve the player’s future.

The Brazilian joined the Nerazzurri on a four-month loan deal in January but the Italian club are said to be unwilling to pay the full €35m option to sign the midfielder permanently.

“We’re still waiting. Inter and Barcelona will have a meeting next week to resolve this problem, but we don’t know what will happen,” former Fiorentina player Mazinho told Goal.com.

“Missing the World Cup? It’s not easy for a player who goes through a good spell and suddenly gets injured.

“Knowing you’re in a good run of form and then being halted by an injury makes you very down.

“He knew he was missing important games, and his drop in motivation was huge. The recovery time was very long and [Brazil boss] Tite didn’t get the chance to know him better.

“It was very bad for us all but in any case, he got back to playing well and had an important role at Inter, where he was happy again.”
