Zaza: I want to stay at Valencia

Simone Zaza has reiterated his desire to stay at Valencia and insists the club have not informed him otherwise, despite media speculation.

The Italian striker has been linked with a summer exit from the Mestalla with the club aiming to raise €45m in sales to help replenish their squad this summer.

“I do not understand why I have to leave,” Zaza – who netted Italy’s goal in a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands - told Onda Cero on Monday night.

“You (journalists) are always speaking about my exit from Valencia, but I have always said that I want to stay. I get along with everyone and I live very happily here.

“I have not talked to the club about my future, they have not been in contact with me.”

The 26-year-old has been linked with a return to Serie A, with Milan said to be among the clubs interested in his signature.
