Arsenal think of Sevilla’s Rico

Arsenal have made contract with Sevilla regarding a potential summer transfer of goalkeeper Sergio Rico, say reports in Spain.

The 24-year-old earned his professional debut with the club in 2014 under former Sevilla Coach Unai Emery, who is now at the helm in North London.

Estadio Deportivo report the Gunners are likely to be in the market for a new goalkeeper with doubts over the future of Petr Cech, 36, and Colombian international David Ospina.

Los Rojiblancos are set to appoint a new management team imminently with the futures of Rico and David Soria, who became first-choice shot-stopper from March, under scrutiny.

Neither goalkeeper has enjoyed a sustained run of strong form this season and Sevilla are said to be open to the idea of sales.
