Girona Coach Pablo Machin has been placed at the top of Sevilla’s shortlist for their vacant managerial position, say reports in Spain.
The 43-year-old has been in charge at the Catalan club since 2014 and oversaw their first ever promotion to La Liga last year.
Sevilla are seeking a new Coach after interim boss Joaquin Caparros’s short-term stint ended, following on from Vincenzo Montella’s dismissal last month.
A report in Cadena Cope states the Girona Coach is now the favourite for the position at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, although ‘there are still other several candidates’, who remain unnamed.
Machin, a former right-back in his playing days, has overseen 189 matches in the dugout at the Montilivi, winning 83 times.
