Ramos: UCL win to eclipse Barca double

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos believes his side winning the Champions League would ‘eclipse a little bit’ of Barcelona’s domestic double.

The central defender was speaking ahead of Saturday’s showpiece against Liverpool in Kyiv and also spoke about a possible future move for Neymar.

“If Madrid wins the Champions League, it would eclipse a little bit Barcelona’s double,” Ramos told Cadena Cope.

“They are worthy of their two titles but if your direct rival wins the Champions League, the dynamic of the situation changes.

“The good thing for us is all our players have had minutes and are fresh for the final, and of course Zidane will have doubts on selection, but we like how he is unpredictable.

“Everyone has shown us disrespect and said others would win the competition before us, but we have been shutting mouths on the pitch.

“Zidane’s future? Whatever happens in Kyiv, he will stay with us.

“My own future? I’d like to retire in Madrid, I cannot see myself playing for a club other than Real Madrid.

“Cristiano? He is the most important player in the history of Real Madrid, for sure.

“Neymar? He has opened the door for a move here, we will see.”
