Mohamed 'signs Celta contract'

Former Argentina international Antonio Mohamed has signed a contract to be appointed Celta Vigo Coach, according to reports.

Argentine media outlet TyC Sports and Mexican paper Record both state an agreement has been struck, while Radio Vigo and Cadena Ser previously reported he is in the Galician city for talks.

The 48-year-old has managed a range of clubs across his native country and Mexico in the last 15 years.

Celta dismissed Coach Juan Carlos Unzue after just one season at the helm and are now turning to Mohamed, who was most recently in charge of Mexican club Monterrey.

He has twice won the Mexican league title with Tijuana in 2012 and America in 2014, while he won the Copa last year with Monterrey, a club whom he left earlier this month.

He has also coached Argentine club Huracan three times along with giants Independiente, while he earned four caps for his country as a player in 1991.
