Villarreal are to make a push for Deportivo la Coruna defender Sidnei in the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian centre-back has decided he wants to depart Riazor following the club’s relegation to La Segunda and, according to Mundo Deportivo, Villarreal are ready to grant him his wish of top-flight football.
The Yellow Submarine will need to pay around €10m for the 28-year-old, although they will try to lower that fee by including various loan players as Depor attempt to return at the first attempt.
Sidnei has been with Depor four seasons, having originally signed on loan from Benfica before the deal was made permanent, with his rights being shared between the Galicians, the Portuguese giants, and football agency Gestifute.
