Neymar confesses ‘I’m afraid’

Brazil star Neymar has told of the fear he has experienced over his injury after returning to Paris from his native country.

The Paris Saint-Germain winger is scheduled to return to training on Wednesday and is targeting Brazil’s friendly with Croatia in London on June 3 as a possible comeback date.

Neymar has been sidelined since February after surgery on a fractured foot and, in an interview granted to Jornal Nacional, reported by AS, he commented on his struggles over the past three months.

“I want to lose this fear as quickly as possible so I can make the World Cup,” he confessed.

“People have always been cheerful during my stay in Brazil and this has helped me on a daily basis, with the tension, but I can’t stop a million things from happening in my head and yes, I’m afraid!

“This is a difficult moment, one of the most difficult times I’ve had to face up to now.

“I know people are nervous, but nobody is more anxious than me and nobody is more afraid than me,” asserted Neymar.
