Bundesliga club Stuttgart have agreed a deal to sign on-loan Girona defender Pablo Maffeo.
The youngster, who has been loaned to the Catalan club by Manchester City since January 2016, will join the Germans for a fee in the region of €10m, while City have retained the right to buy back the player.
It is understood the 20-year-old right-back will sign a five-year contract and Maffeo says he is delighted to have sealed the move.
“I am very proud to be going to one of the best clubs in the Bundesliga, with a spectacular stadium and an ambitious project,” Maffeo told reporters.
“I am also very grateful to Manchester City because they have had belief in me since I was a child. They made me who I am and gave me the chance of achieving my dream, which was to play football at the top level.
“I have had an unforgettable experience with Girona and I will always have the club in my heart,” he maintained.
