Espanyol down sorry Malaga

Espanyol eased to a comfortable 4-1 win over already-relegated Malaga at the RCDE Stadium.

The hosts took the lead after just eight minutes when Gerard Moreno scored from close range, and Sergio Garcia doubled the advantage from a similar distance before the half-hour mark.

Leo Baptistao then swept home shortly afterwards before Malaga pulled one back from the penalty spot through Adrian Gonzalez after Naldo had handled in the penalty area.

The Catalans were awarded a penalty themselves after 79 minutes when Pablo Piatti was felled by Roberto Rosales, with Piatti converting the spot-kick himself.
