Young defender Jesus Vallejo insisted he felt more than comfortable playing for Real Madrid in the 3-2 defeat to Sevilla on Wednesday.
Vallejo was one of eight changes made by Zinedine Zidane from El Clasico, yet the 21-year-old appeared to struggle up against Luis Muriel and Wissam Ben Yedder during a disappointing night at the Sanchez Pizjuan.
Nonetheless, he insisted he would learn from the experience and maintained he would come back even stronger.
“It’s never bad to play for Real Madrid, it’s always incredible, so you have to enjoy it and compete,” he insisted afterwards to reporters.
“At Madrid you are always exposed, with the defence high up the pitch, but I like this style of play and felt at home. I always try to play with the same intensity.
“I had more desire than anyone, that’s not a problem. There are days when things just don’t go for you and we lacked the time to score an equaliser, but it doesn’t matter and we have to carry on and go for it on Saturday.
“The match escaped us, although in the second half we were better and had chances, but it wasn’t to be,” he reflected.
