Sevilla efforts rewarded – Caparros

Sevilla boss Joaquin Caparros felt his players were fully rewarded for their efforts in the 3-2 defeat of Real Madrid at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

“It’s nice our efforts were rewarded because today my players left their souls on the pitch, with the help of supporters that were fantastic, very big, and we have two games remaining so must continue playing this way if we are to get into Europe.” he told a Press conference.

“I’m very happy. They said Madrid were going to come here with their C or D team, yet they brought a team full of internationals. We played very well as we have good footballers with lots of quality and talent.

“We were able to score more goals, but we were up against Real Madrid. We started a bit dubiously but changed a couple of things and, as this team has speed and talent, we took our chances, although it was a pity we suffered in the last five minutes.

“We now need to be mentally prepared for this weekend’s derby at Betis. They have qualified mathematically for a competition in which Sevilla is King, but we are going to try to play well and get a good result,” he added.
