Zidane: No Sevilla regrets

Zinedine Zidane insists he ‘doesn’t regret’ naming Real Madrid’s second string against Sevilla and ‘can’t criticise them for anything’.

“I don’t regret the team I named,” said the Coach after Los Blancos 3-2 defeat on Wednesday.

“When you look at the team I named, you can see that it’s one that could’ve won calmly. It’s a shame, it was an opportunity to pick up more points.

“I can’t criticise them for anything because in the second half, they tried and scored two goals.

“The defeat won’t affect us. We’re not happy with the defeat, but it doesn’t affect us. I’m the Coach, I decided the teams and that’s all.

“Someone thinks we’ve come here to lose. I say to that that I’m the Coach, I make the decisions and that’s it.

“We did well in the first 70 yards, but we didn’t do anything in the final 30, especially in the first half.

“We did better in the second half, with more mobility. It wasn’t an issue of our opponents but our own performance

“Beyond our performances, we can’t be happy with the results we had in the League. There were players who didn’t [perform], but I’m happier with our second half.

“We’re not going to talk about how we started the season any more, but I’m generally satisfied with how we’ve played. Not all the time, but most of it.”
