Caparros backing Sevilla strikers

Joaquin Caparros is backing his Sevilla frontmen to get on the scoresheet in the final three games of the season.

Goals have been hard to come by recently for the strikers and the Sevilla boss is hoping they will start to find the back of the net again – starting with Wednesday’s home clash against Real Madrid.

“I’ve spoken to them and told them they are all good players, so the goals will come as they are players who have scored goals at other clubs,” he told reporters.

“Hopefully, they can end the dry spell in the next games, although the main thing is the team and above all that we don’t concede; that’s the important thing – to keep a clean sheet.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is expected to make changes to the line-up that drew with Barcelona in El Clasico at the weekend, but Caparros is under no illusions about the size of the task facing his team.

“I don’t know whether they will turn up with their A or B team; I’d like their C or D team to come. They are a side with world class footballers, the best, and it’s going to be difficult because some of their top players will play.”
