Milorad Mazic to officiate CL final

UEFA have confirmed that Serbian referee Milorad Mazic will take charge of the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool this month.

The 45-year old has been involved in refereeing European matches since 2009 and took charge of Germany’s Confederations Cup final victory over Chile last year.

Mazic, who has also been selected for this summer’s World Cup, has previously refereed Madrid when they won a European title – the 2016 Super Cup triumph over Sevilla.

Madrid reached this month’s final in Kyiv after victories over Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich, and they will now face Liverpool, who last won the trophy in 2005.

Elsewhere, Dutch referee Bjorn Kuipers has been chosen to take charge of the Europa League final between Atletico Madrid and Marseille in Lyon.
