Real Madrid are interested in signing defender Joao Cancelo who is currently on loan at Inter from Valencia, according to reports.
El Mundo Deportivo cite a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport that Los Blancos are willing to trump any offer for the Portugal international at the end of the season.
The Nerazzurri have an option to sign the full-back on a €35m deal but this must be exercised before the end of May, although such a deal currently appears unlikely due to financial restraints.
Later this month Cancelo will celebrate his 24th birthday and Madrid are on the lookout for a new right-back with Dani Carvajal the only recognised senior player in that position in the squad.
Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi has appeared for Madrid this season but he is still a teenager and may reportedly be loaned out or sold with a buyback clause this summer.
