Valencia defender Jose Luis Gaya has turned down Atletico Madrid to commit his future to the Mestalla, say reports in the Spanish press.
A report in Cope Valencia states the 22-year-old is set to sign a five-year contract until June 2023 in a deal which will double his release clause to €80m.
It states an agreement is ‘very close’ between the club and the player, despite advancements from Atletico and an unnamed Bundesliga club.
A report in Super Deporte earlier in the day suggested a deal was close despite late interest from Italian champions Juventus.
