Busquets hails ‘heavenly’ double

Sergio Busquets admits Barcelona’s domestic double ‘tastes heavenly’, even if the Champions League was a ‘disappointment’.

“This double tastes heavenly,” the midfielder said after Barca’s 4-2 win at Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday, which secured them the Liga title.

“Winning seven Leagues out of the last 10 is crazy, especially for how we’ve achieved it, with four games left. We’ve had an almost-perfect League campaign.

“We haven’t stumbled at all this season, we’ve succeeded thanks to a very good start, which gave us confidence, and the win against Atletico Madrid set us up.

“We’ve had a remarkable campaign, although it’s true that there’s been one disappointment [referring to the CL].

“Iniesta? On the one hand, I feel sad that he’s leaving us, but he’s also earned the right to decide his future.

“We have great respect for him and always supported him because he marked an era at Barça and we’re very proud to have played alongside him.

“Now we can enjoy him in our last few games. He can only be described by a few words.”
