Atletico Madrid goal scorer Antoine Griezmann has credited his side’s Europa League semi-final first leg draw at Arsenal to Coach Diego Simeone.
The Frenchman netted with eight minutes remaining to rescue an unlikely draw for Los Rojiblancos, who had Sime Vrsaljko dismissed in the ninth minute.
“The result is because of Simeone,” Griezmann told reporters after the match.
“He has taught us how to defend, how to fight and battle not just in every game but in every training session too – it is our mindset.
“The truth is the start of the game was a bit crazy, many things happened.
“We were with 10 and we all defended and worked. A little mistake by the opponent and a goal, we know how to take advantage of errors."
“Now we have a nice home return at home and hopefully our fans can help us to go through, we must do it now, we expect a euphoric atmosphere at the Wanda.
“Jan is the best keeper at the moment, I don't say that just as he is my teammate, but for the saves he makes and the points he brings us.”
