Junior: Betis aiming for top 6 finish

Real Betis defender Junior Firpo insists the club are aiming for a ‘minimum top six finish’ and to qualify directly for the Europa League.

Sevilla’s Copa del Rey final defeat ensures that seventh position will also now qualify for Europe next season but the Dominican full-back, who only debuted in January, is keeping standards high.

“We do not want to finish seventh, our aim now is a minimum of top six,” Junior is cited as saying by El Desmarque.

“Previously we did not speak about qualifying for Europe openly but now that it is the talking point, we do not want to let the possibility escape us.

“These moments are exciting for me especially after scoring a late goal (against Las Palmas) and then seeing your parents excited in the stadium, it is the most beautiful thing in football.”
