OFFICIAL: Wenger to leave Arsenal

Atletico Madrid’s Europa League semi-final opponents Arsenal have confirmed boss Arsene Wenger will leave the club at the end of the season.

The Frenchman will leave the Gunners and end his 22-year reign at the club, departing a year before his current contract was set to expire.

The North London club lie sixth in the Premier League and set to miss out on a top-four spot for the second straight season, with their hopes of reaching the Champions League resting on triumphing in the Europa League.

Wenger, 68, won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups, including the Double in 1998 and 2002.

Arsenal host Atleti on Thursday 26 May with the return leg at the Wanda Metropolitano the following week. The winners will take on Salzburg or Marseille in the final next month.
