Atletico Madrid’s 3-0 defeat at Real Sociedad has put Barcelona within one victory of their 25 Spanish first division crown.
Diego Simeone’s side, who remain second, fell to a heavy defeat at the Anoeta thanks to an early Willian Jose opener followed by two late strikes from Juanmi.
Brazilian striker Jose opened the scoring in the 27th minute following Adnan Januzaj’s cut-back before former Southampton striker Juanmi doubled the lead with a powerful drive.
La Real, who move up to 11th in the standings, completed the scoring in stoppage time with Juanmi’s chip completing the scoring.
If Atleti lose at home to Real Betis on Sunday the league title will go to the Blaugrana, who play Deportivo La Coruna in a week’s time.
