Ziganda hails Muniain return

Iker Muniain is closing in on a return to full fitness after recovering from a torn knee ligament and returning to first-team action.

The 25-year-old missed six months of action but netted on his return to action against Villarreal last week and also featured against Deportivo on Saturday.

“I must thank our medical services as he has been rehabilitated as quickly as possible,” Ziganda told his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Real Madrid, as cited by Marca.

“He is improving game by game and in training you can notice it a lot too, he has recovered very well and he looks forward to the future.

“Real Madrid are a machine – if they play well then they will win and if they do not play well then they will still win.

“Madrid struggled in the first half of the league but have been fantastic following on from that both in La Liga and the Champions League.

“They have many important players who can decide a game, they will be difficult to spot.”
