Every game a ‘party’ for Torres

The departing Fernando Torres admits he sees every game until the end of the season as a ‘party’ after surpassing 100 Atletico Madrid goals in La Liga.

Torres became only the seventh player in Atleti’s history to pass a century of strikes, netting alongside Angel Correa and Antonio Griezmann in a 3-0 win against Levante on the aptly-named Children’s Day at Wanda Metropolitano.

“For me, every game until the end of the season is going to be a party,” the striker, who will leave Los Rojiblancos this summer, told BeIN Sports.

“To play in front of these fans is an added incentive. Let’s hope it wasn’t my last goal of the season, nor my last game.

“I’ll fight to be in the starting line-up and keep scoring goals until the last game. We’re happy.

“The best way to prepare for what’s coming up is to win, like we’ve done in the last few years.

“I’m happy to play at home in front of our people on a special day for all children, with a good result. The team played well in every sense.”
