Atletico Madrid will face Arsenal in the semi-finals of this season’s Europa League with the other tie pitting Marseille against Salzburg.
Diego Simeone’s side have knocked out FC Copenhagen, Lokomotiv Moscow and Sporting CP to reach this stage of the competition, while Arsenal have seen off Ostersunds, Milan and CSKA Moscow.
The two sides have never previously met competitively, with the first leg in North London before the return at the Wanda Metropolitano the following week.
The Madrid-based club surprisingly exited the Champions League at the group stage, and last won the Europa League title in 2012.
This season’s final will be staged in Lyon’s Parc Olympique Lyonnais stadium, 16 May.
