La Liga 123 outfit Real Valladolid have fired Coach Luis Cesar Sampedro with eight games remaining of the league season.
The Blanquivioletas crashed to a 1-0 defeat at Gimnastic this weekend to leave them fives places – but only three points – from a promotion playoff spot.
Sampedro was appointed at the Estadio Nuevo Jose Zorrilla after a stint in charge of Lugo, and has been coaching in Spain’s second tier for the past 17 seasons.
The club have not been in Spain’s top flight since 2014 and have recorded 5th, 16th and 7th-placed finishes in the intervening seasons.
