First-half strikes from Sergio Canales and Adnan Januzaj put the Basque side on their way to all three points in their second match under Imanol Alguacil’s reign.
Mikel Oyarzabal netted a double before Juanmi completed the scoring for La Real late on to put the icing on the cake of an emphatic victory.
The victory moves Real Sociedad up four places to 12th in the standings while Girona remain 8th – two points behind Sevilla.
