Albacete player ‘falls out of window’

Albacete midfielder Pelayo Novo is in intensive care after falling out of a window on Saturday morning, but his life is reportedly not in danger.

Marca reports Novo fell from the third floor of the Abba hotel in Huesca, whom Albacete are due to face this evening.

His teammates Ruben Mino and Nestor Susaeta were the first to go to the scene of the accident, before the 27-year-old received urgent medical attention and was taken to a mobile intensive-care unit in Zaragoza.

However, the newspaper reassures ‘his life isn’t in danger’, while a statement on Albacete’s website notes he is currently in a ‘stable condition’.

The circumstances leading up to what happened remain unknown at this stage, but the 19:00 kick-off could be suspended as a result.

Novo began his career at Oviedo, before helping Elche into La Liga and spending time on loan at Cordoba and Lugo.
