Report: Llorente to leave Madrid

Marcos Llorente reportedly wants to leave Real Madrid this summer after growing tired with a lack of first-team opportunities.

According to AS, Llorente is not prepared to spend another season on Madrid’s sidelines, having seen just 942 minutes of action since returning from Alaves last summer.

Consequently, the midfielder would be ‘exploring the transfer market’, with the newspaper already sounding out Real Sociedad and Eintracht Frankfurt as possible destinations.

The publication explains Los Blancos may look to swap him for La Real right-back Alvaro Odriozola or tap into their ‘excellent relationship’ with Frankfurt, who previously loaned Jesus Vallejo and currently have Blancos-owned Omar Mascarell on their books.

Malaga are also said to have shown an interest in the former Spain Under-21 international, although the Andalusians’ imminent relegation to the second tier appears to have pulled them out of the race.

Llorente has spent his entire career at the Santiago Bernabeu, joining as a 13-year-old back in 2008, and is the great-nephew of club icon Francisco Gento.
