Montella: Sevilla will have to suffer

Vincenzo Montella admits Sevilla ‘will have to suffer’ against Manchester United at Old Trafford in their Champions League tie on Tuesday night.

The tie is tantalisingly poised at 0-0 after last month’s encounter at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan and Los Rojiblancos are aiming to qualify for the last eight for the first time in their history.

“This is a massive opportunity for us and important for the history of the club,” Montella told his pre-match press conference.

“We will be giving everything to try and achieve progression, but we are under no illusions that we will have to suffer for 90 minutes or more.

“It’s a very special occasion for Sevilla, a really important game and we dream of a place in the quarter finals, it’s a big competition and to reach that stage would be momentous for us.

“We have confidence in our own ability and we believe this will be an evenly contested match.”
