La Liga 123 leaders Huesca dropped points for the third successive weekend as the promotion race to the top flight heated up.
Huesca were held 2-2 at home to mid-table Almeria but the gap to second-placed Rayo Vallecano remains at five points after the Madrid-based side were held 1-1 at Real Valladolid.
Granada and Cadiz, in third and fourth respectively, could not take advantage of the slip-ups after defeats at Lugo and Osasuna respectively.
Sporting Gijon moved into 5th with a hard-fought win at struggling Sevilla Atletico, while Real Oviedo slip to 6th after being held at home by Barcelona B on Friday night.
Elsewhere, Cordoba’s resurgence under Jose Ramon Sandoval continued with a second successive win as they triumphed 2-1 at Alcorcon, but the Andalucian side remain eight points from safety.
