Bartra fury at disallowed goal

Real Betis defender Marc Bartra has criticised referee Alejandro Hernandez’s decision to rule out his goal at Valencia on Sunday.

The former Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund headed home after a defensive mix-up from Los Che, who had been leading 2-0 at the time, but the goal was surprisingly chalked off due to an alleged foul by Loren Moron.

“I’ve seen the incident 20 times and each time I see this as a valid goal,” Bartra wrote on his Twitter account.

“With VAR in Germany the situation is always clearer because the officials receive a lot of help and it benefits everyone.

“These moments happen very fast and it’s tough to make a correct decision for decisions which decide games.”

Valencia ran out 2-0 victors in the match to tighten their grip on a top four slot.
