The fine run of form of Alaves under Coach Abelardo Fernandez continued with a 1-0 victory at home to struggling Levante.
Defender Victor Languardia netted a last-minute winner for the Basque club in a contentious clash which saw each side reduced to ten men.
Levante central defender Chema was sent-off on the half-hour mark but Manu Garcia could not convert the penalty, while Munir El-Haddadi was later dismissed for the hosts with a second yellow card.
Alaves are now up to 14th in the standings and 11 points clear of the relegation zone, while Levante remain above the bottom three on their head-to-head record with Las Palmas only.
