Diego Simone has hailed his side’s second half performance in their 5-2 victory against Sevilla ‘as the best of the season’.
Leading 2-0 at half time, two further goals from Antoine Griezmann and a Koke strike put the visitors five goals ahead before the Andalucians pulled two late goals back.
“After half time we put in our best performance of the season so far,” Simeone told reporters after the game, as cited by Marca.
“The team played very strongly and the tactics we used worked perfectly, they were carried out exactly as to how I wanted them to be.
“We must work on continuing to improve as this is a tough part of the season with plenty of tough opponents, with Leganes next and they are extremely strong defensively.
“Sevilla very rarely lose at home and have been doing very well under Vincenzo Montella, but we cannot think about that game any longer and must move on.”
