Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone has admitted Antoie Griezmann’s start to the season was ‘not his usual level’ but he is now in ‘great form’.
The French forward netted a hat-trick in Sunday’s 5-2 victory at Sevilla but he had previously only scored eight goals in 21 La Liga outings this campaign.
“Right now, Antoine is in brilliant form and that has not always been the case this season,” Simeone told reporters as quoted by Diario AS.
“At the start of the season he was not playing at his usual level of performance and that had a knock-on impact for the rest of the team, as he is such an outstanding player.
“Now we can see Griezmann is in great form and that is reflected in our results.”
