Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano stadium will host Spain’s friendly against Argentina next month, it has been confirmed.
Six months on from the opening match at the stadium – when Atleti beat Malaga 1-0 – it will host it’s first international match, with 2014 World Cup finalists Argentina playing the hosts.
The stadium has been met with widespread approval while it will also host this season’s Copa del Rey final and next year’s Champions League showpiece.
Atleti have yet to lose a league match at the stadium, with Chelsea and Sevilla the only visiting sides to defeat the hosts.
