Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho believes his side deserved a draw at Sevilla and can progress at their Old Trafford home.
It was scoreless in Seville with big opportunities limited for both sides, although United’s goalkeeper David de Gea produced a string of fine saves.
“The game was even, the stats are what they are but I feel the result reflects how the game was,” Mourinho told reporters after the match.
“At Old Trafford if we draw with goals we are out, if we win by any result we are through. Is that difficult? Yes, but it is a match in our house and I believe that Old Trafford misses a big European night.
“Of course, last season we had quarter-finals, semi-finals, but it was in the Europa League, which has a different meaning.
“The year before we didn't play in the Champions League so I think Old Trafford misses this and can create a similar atmosphere to what we had here today and push us through a difficult match.
“We just need to win.”
