Navas: Sevilla must focus against United

Sevilla winger Jesus Navas has recalled his time at Manchester City fondly and believes his side must be ‘fully focused’ against Manchester United.

The 32-year-old re-joined the Andalucian club this summer after four years in Manchester, where he won the Premier League title in his debut campaign.

“My treatment in England was second to none – I won titles, played lots of games and made a lot of friends,” Navas told his pre-match press conference, as cited by Sevilla’s official media.

“It was fantastic to experience several Manchester derbies and I met many of the United players, but this game will be totally different and we must be fully focused.

“They have a lot of quick players who play directly and we must play against that, as they score a lot of goals in that fashion.

“United play at a very high level and compete for a lot of trophies at a very high level, so it will be very tough.

“David De Gea? He has everything! He is perfect in one-on-one situations, at playing out from the back, making reaction saves…

“We feel good going into this tie, we are growing in confidence and enjoying life under Montella, who has a clear plan and everyone is working hard.”
