Real Sociedad made it back-to-back home victories in La Liga as they eased to a 3-0 victory over struggling Levante on Sunday.
Goals from Xabi Prieto, Juanmi and Sergio Canales put Eusebio Sacristan’s side on course for a comfortable victory in a match in which they were rarely troubled.
Captain Prieto gave La Real the lead in the 10th minute from the penalty spot, but he was then replaced by Canales in the aftermath following a suspected groin injury.
Striker Juanmi then doubled the Basque side’s advantage with a cool finish from a Canales assist, before the winger – who put in a Man of the Match performance – grabbed a third in the second half.
The result brings La Real up to 12th in La Liga with Levante remaining 17th, two points above the relegation zone but six points off Espanyol, who have a game in hand.
