Muriel downplays injury concerns

Sevilla striker Luis Muriel has downplayed fears over a hamstring injury and is unlikely to miss any first-team action.

There were fears that the Colombian would have to sit out upcoming matches with Las Palmas, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid after limping out of the recent 1-0 win over Girona.

“I’m fine, I just need a few days rest and I am returning to training now,” Muriel told Sevilla’s official club media.

“I stopped immediately when I felt the pain in my hamstring and thankfully such quick-thinking appears to have been enough to prevent any serious injury.

“I feel good and I have been given confidence by the Coach (Vincenzo Montella) and now I feel calmer, more focused, and ready to give my best version.

“That confidence comes not just from games but everyday issues in training and around your life, to regain your confidence is important so it is now important to remain on this projection.”
