Murillo close to Valencia return

Valencia defender Jeison Murillo is set to return to first-team football after three months of action with a hernia injury.

The Colombian has been sidelined since November and has started only seven La Liga games but he is closing in on a return to Los Che’s team.

“I am feeling good and aiming to return as soon as possible,” Murillo confirmed to VCF Radio on Wednesday.

“I do not want to return until I’m at 100% fitness but that is not far away and I feel that I am close, I am happy and my motivation is higher than ever.

“The discomfort has disappeared and despite a few small issues, they are also clearing up and things are looking positive.

“Being injured for so long demoralises you and it is tough, but I hope it has made me stronger and that I have shown character to eventually overcome it and come through the other side.

“The side is still going well, we are on course to meet our objectives for the season and the spirit is good.”
