Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has appeared to criticise his team’s mentality in Champions League knockout games.
The Frenchman opened the scoring in the Bernabeu on Wednesday but, despite enjoying most of possession and their fine form domestically, his side lost 3-1 to Real Madrid.
“It is easy for us to score eight goals in Dijon, but we need to be winning these types of games and that is the problem,” Rabiot told reporters after the match.
“We had chances, which is usual for us in these games, although they were not clear-cut, obvious opportunities and against teams who have big chances, you will be punished in this way.
“Of course we will try to qualify for the next round and there are still opportunites, but it will be difficult for us.”
