Cordoba appoint Jose Ramon Sandoval

La Liga 123 strugglers Cordoba have appointed Jose Ramon Sandoval after the sacking of Jorge Romero, with the club mired in relegation trouble.

Romero, 33, took charge of just ten matches but was dismissed with only two wins and seven defeats in that run of games from the start of December.

Sandoval’s most recent managerial job was at Rayo Vallecano in the first half of the 2016/17 season – his second stint at the club.

The Madrid-native has also had stints in charge of Sporting Gijon and Granada, from whom he was dismissed in February 2016.

Cordoba lie third from bottom in the standings and 11 points from safety with 16 matches remaining in the league campaign.
